Cozy wind jackets were the order of the day May 1, opening day of the 18-Hole Ladies' golf season at Meaford.

Two birdies were carded, regardless of brisk winds and cold temperatures: Marge Allin on the par five Randle 8, and Sue MacDougald, on the par-3 second hole of Millennium run.

Prizes for lowest scores went to Sue, with 104; Genny Horn, with a 105; and Donna Atkinson of Thornbury, with 110. Convenors were Barb Loranger and Cathy Seidle.

Thursday, May 8, golfers will participate in a practice for match play.
