Mark Calvert's Grade 7 class from Meaford Community School travelled to Bill's Valu-mart last week on a Geography field trip.

The students were checking out the produce department to see how many different places our fresh fruit and vegetables come from.

Storeowner Bill MacDonald says that his store carries local produce like apples, raspberries and strawberries when they are in season.

The students were also looking to see if the cost of organically grown produce is different from regular produce. After the information was gathered, the students were treated to fresh fruit and cookies before walking along the Georgian Trail back to school.
