Celebrity storytellers were the highlight of the day last Wednesday afternoon at McCarroll Park.
The Meaford Public Library organizes the event set up at the park to encourage local children to read and listen to stories during the summer months. Last week Assistant Children's Services Coordinator Michael Crowley organized several celebrity readers to participate in the event at the park.
The theme for the day was: "When I Grow Up."
Local golfer Megan Chapman, OPP Constable Jerome Benoit and LFCATC Meaford soldier Private Danielle McCutcheon joined the children and each read a story they had picked out. After their story they answered questions about their career paths.
The Reading Tent is held in conjunction with the Grey County Early Years Literacy Program.
Children of all ages and parents as well enjoyed the story time and the craft projects that were also set up for the day.
