It was with a sense of shock and foreboding that I learned of the proposal to pave the Georgian Trail. Why would anyone wish to alter the pristine beauty of the jewel that we have in our midst? I well remember the public pressure that was used to persuade the local council members to purchase the old railway lines. Since its inception, it has brought great joy and satisfaction to those of us who love to use it.

As a member of the Georgian Trail and a citizen of the Municipality of Meaford, I wish to register my objection to it being paved- upgraded, yes, but not paved.
