On Monday, June 22, the Meaford Lawn Bowling Club hosted a tournament sponsored by the Rotary Club. Thanks to this organization for sponsoring such a great event. We hosted teams from many communities around our district, including Sauble Beach, Collingwood,  Roselawn in Owen Sound, Port Elgin, South Hampton, Walkerton, Hanover  and of course Meaford.  The first place winners were a team from Sauble Beach, John and Mary-Ann Van Rooyen with three wins and a score of 47plus9.

The second team winners came from Hanover, familiar names, Gerry Belair and Glenda Ellig with three wins and a score of 46. Third place was held by Marion and Charlie Ellis from South Hampton. They won two games and had a score of 48plus 6. In fourth place was another team from Hanover, Liz Geurtjens and Linda Walters with two wins and a score of 38. We gave a prize to the team that had one game high score and that was a Hanover team of Ken Martin and Pat Kaufman. They had a score of 18 points in that one game.

 The next tournament will be the Muxlow tournament on the 22nd of July. Come on out to watch this great sport in our town.
