Editor:
To the people of Meaford, please accept our thanks for the hospitality that everyone showed the Lee Family on December 28th and 29th while we were in town for the Olympic Torch Run.
Our 14-year-old daughter, Jennifer had the honor and the pleasure of carrying the torch from along Sykes street to Marshall Street. I know she was proud to carry the torch, especially in such a beautiful and friendly town. We were overwhelmed by the handshakes and the enthusiasm of everyone that braved the snow, wind and cold that morning to witness history touching your beautiful community.
Although we live in Bracebridge, we very much felt like we were among family and friends as we witnessed Jenny running up Skyes Street with the Olympic torch. Like they say, it's a flame that unites us all. The Internet broadcast of the torch run allowed our friends and family from across North America to watch the event live and many remarked about how friendly the community seemed from the web broadcast.
The Lee family looks forward to spending vacation and family time in the months and years ahead in your community.
Thanks again for the hospitality, and all the very best to everyone in Meaford for 2010.
Tim, Tanya, Emma and Jennifer Lee
