Beaver Valley Midget Rep. got their first road win of the season Thursday, with a 5-3 victory at Oro. That win followed a pair of losses to Creemore and Dundalk.

Penalty troubles were at the root of the 4-1 loss to Creemore, Nov. 2. Shane Wilson got the lone Beaver Valley goal, assisted by Dave Shaw and Adam Fulford.

The team travelled to Dundalk, Nov. 5, and lost 4-3 in a very close match.

The home team scored early in the first period with Beaver Valley tying it a minute-and-a-half later, Matt Paterson scoring from Greg Campbell and David O'Neil. Scott Brown put the Valley in the lead on a short-handed solo effort later in the period.

After a scoreless second period, there was a flurry of three goals in just under a minute in the third. Dundalk notched the first, but Beaver Valley moved ahead, again, on a goal by Campbell assisted by Brian Kennedy.

Soon after that, Dundalk got even again. Things looked promising late in the final period as Dundalk were serving a penalty. But the tables were turned when, with just 1:57 to play, Dundalk scored a short-handed goal that stood up as the winner.

Beaver Valley were on the road again, travelling to Oro, Nov. 8. The teams were evenly-matched and there was no scoring through the first period.

Early in the second, David O'Neil netted his first goal of the season, assisted by Dave Shaw and Tyson Perry. Oro tied it before the end of the period, however.

The third brought goals from Jake Cassidy, assisted by Campbell, followed by Paterson from Perry and Mark Osborne. Fulford put the Valley ahead 4-1, assisted by Jordan Shaw, on a power play.

Oro wasn't done, however. The team scored twice within a span of 20 seconds to get to within one.

But, with 15.9 seconds left on the clock, the Oro net empty, and the faceoff in the Beaver Valley end, Zane Robertson got a grip on the puck and wired it end-to-end into the open net to seal the 5-3 win.

This week the Midget Reps play Friday, in Feversham, and Saturday, in Meaford. Their next home game is Sunday, Nov. 25, at 9:45 p.m.
