A Meaford man is facing numerous charges after an incident last Thursday night.

Grey County OPP received a call just after 9:30 p.m. on January 31, that a masked man armed with a knife had entered a residence on Sykes St. in the town of Meaford looking for another man.

A man, woman and a child were in the house at the time, however, the individual being sought was not, so the intruder left. There was no physical altercation and no one was injured.

Grey County OPP officers attended and a short time later located the suspect but he ran from the officer. After a brief search with the assistance of the Grey County OPP Canine Unit and members of the emergency response team he was located and arrested.

The 24-year-old man was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Owen Sound Court Monday, charged with break and enter, possession of a weapon dangerous and escape lawful custody.
