As part of a new sponsorship with the National Hockey League, Scotiabank has a contest that asks customers to visit its website to participate in a contest to build their own version of the famous Stanley Cup.
Staffer Angela Calow built the replica on display at the bank. She cited the importance of water, apples, scarecrows and hockey to the community in her design.
"We have taken an apple basket, picked some of our best apples and set it on top of some upside down apple pie tins. We then took some burlap from one of our scarecrows and wrapped it around a water jug and added some accents. Put this all together and we have our replica Stanley Cup ... or should we call it the Burlapple Cup?" she said.
