Grey County OPP arrested two youths after responding to an intrusion alarm at the Foodland store in downtown Meaford early Saturday morning, March 22.
Officers quickly responded to the alarm at about 1:15 a.m. and found the store had been entered through a smashed glass door. An initial investigation revealed that a quantity of cigarettes had been stolen.
Officers patrolling the area made contact with two teens at about 1:30 a.m. and found one of them had a quantity of cigarettes in his possession.
The two boys, aged 16 and 17 years, are residents of Meaford and were arrested and charged; one with break, enter and theft and the other with possession of stolen property.
They were released with conditions pending a first appearance court date in Owen Sound on May 6.
