Local runners compete in half-marathon

Two members of the Coyote Running Club participated in the Run for Retina Half-Marathon held in London recently.

David Postings crossed the finish line in a time of 1:47:19 earning him first place in the 60+ category and also putting himself 48th overall in a field of 233. This timing proved to be a personal best for David.

Andy Harrington also competed and placed 19th overall and 7th in the 40-49 category. Also competing were Scott and Paula Luce. Scott completed the half marathon in 2:11:48, 155th overall.

Paula competed in the 10K race and placed 257th.

The Coyote Running Club meets every Saturday morning at 7:30, Earth Harvest Cafe, run or walk at various levels from the experienced runner to a few that like the pace of a gentle walk.

Also beginning on April 24 at 7 p.m., Lorene Taylor will be starting up her run/walk clinic in preparation for the Meaford Harbour Run/Walk held in July. On Tuesdays, bike rides from Meaford to Thornbury will begin starting at 6:30. Both weekly events start at the Meaford Harbour Pavilion.
