Over 600 students participated in the Earth Day hike-a-thon for the Grey-Sauble Conservation Authority.

Over 600 students from Meaford Community School, St. Vincent Euphrasia Elementary, and Georgian Bay Secondary School participated in the Earth Day hike-a-thon for the Grey-Sauble Conservation Authority.

"The hike for conservation in Owen Sound always has many participants from Meaford Schools so we decided to organize a separate event in Meaford," said organizer Bruce Calvert.

Half of the money raised from the hike-a-thon will go back to Meaford schools while the other half will be used to fund various conservation programs.
