Grey County OPP is investigating after a stolen car was burned on an unimproved Side Road south of Highway 26 about midway between Owen Sound and Meaford on Saturday night.

The car, a green 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora, was destroyed by fire on Side Road 7 just east of the Sydenham-St. Vincent Town Line in Meaford.

The fire was extinguished by the Inter-Township Fire Department just before 11 p.m. Police say it had been taken from an east side house in Owen Sound, unknown to the owner who was vacationing in the United States. The car had not been reported stolen prior to the discovery of the fire.

Anyone with information that might assist in clearing the case is asked to contact Grey County OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Constable Kevin Green is the investigating officer.
